History Made Today!!!!!! [Oct. 5th, 2004|07:42 pm]
Wooooooo!!!

If any of you glance at headlines, you know what I'm talking about.

The second sucessful flight of SpaceShipOne!!!!

The privatly funded spacecraft was built to win the Ansari X prize of $10 million, it had to pass a certain height in the atmosphere to win, and it did. Safely, twice!

Space tourism is not too far away now. There is even a new company forming called Virgin Glalactica that will be building new 5 seater spacecrafts and offering tickets to the general public. Granted, the tickets are starting out at $203,000 haha. Representatives from the company say that they will be in constant effort to lower the prices so people who want to ride will get the chance.

Who knows? Maybe because of this new age in space tourism, lunar colonization might not be too far away, at least it may be started during our life times!!!

Haha, yeah I know, I'm a nut. :-) But this stuff is so cool. Damn I wish I was good at math....I would so be a part of this if I could.

I just thought everyone should know this "fact" that I learned in my English class today.

A paragraph is too short unless it contains four sentences.

So if you have *ever* written a paragraph with less than four sentences, you are WRONG, according to my English teacher.

And we all know how absolutly brilliant she is.

I do not have a serious problem with any of my college classes.

Except English 101.

I loathe, hate, and positivly DETEST that class.

Reading, fine, I can do that and don't mind it. I do mind that the things I am now reading, lack even a hint of interest. I will admit freely that I do not enjoy reading essays written as documented essays. If people like looking information up and writing their own thing on it, let them. But don't make me read it.

Essays, okay great, had em all my life, no different now.

*Group* editing of essays....WTF, no I refuse. I draw the line. If I had known that three of my peers were going to be analyzing my essay, I would *not* have written about my mother's brain surgery. I would've written about something like...getting a puppy, or at least to that effect.

Yes, at this very moment I sincerily wish, more than I have ever before ( and I did wish it before) that I had taken AP with Ms Scanlon. At least then I would not have a terrible sense of fear growing in my stomach every time I walked in the class.

I do not like being made to feel stupid. I do not like having a teacher tell the class that "Just by looking at the length of this essay, I can tell it is wrong." when it is *my* essay she is waving about. I do not like my english teacher.

I have never before actually felt hate, fear, and anguish toward a teacher, or the class they have taught. But that is the point I am at. I can't believe it's only week four.

Essays suck [Sep. 20th, 2004|08:56 pm]
I'm supposed to be finishing this english essay right now.

She asked that our rough draft be ready for tomorrow. Why oh why do teacher's care about rough drafts? I mean wouldn't you rather look at the finished product? I would. I don't like to waste time reading something that is going to be improved.

And personally, I do not see the point, why the hell should I write about a situation in my life that was most challenging?

I don't like *going* through hard times, so why do they ask me to remember them? "Oh please, remember the time in your life that sucked, and tell us every wrenching detail."

No, but thanks for bringing all those feelings back to the surface again.

Fall [Sep. 19th, 2004|08:10 pm]
Fall, one of my favorite times of year. Especially the now part of fall, where it is just beginning to kick in. The air cools, the trees start to turn, you can *feel* change in the air. And the smell....that smell early in the morning, of cool, peaceful change.

Last night was tough for me, but when the sun started to add color to the world, I walked outside. It was about 45 degrees, and quiet. Just quiet. The temperature, the sound, and the smell just calmed me down.

If I could, I'd skip spring and summer and just have fall and winter......

I finished a picture I've been working on. It's Link and Epona from Ocaraina of Time. I realized many things during this drawing, one of them is that the shape of a horse does not make sense in my brain. So even looking at the picture I still couldn't get it right. But I really wanted to have this sketched, so "YES MS GODESKY!!! I TRACED THIS!!!!!!!" haha but I don't feel bad about it, because the horse looks 18,000 times better than it did before. I just didn't want everyone to think I can draw horses now....haha because I can't. :-)

"Projectile Vomiting" [Sep. 17th, 2004|10:32 pm]
So today, in my history class, the professor threw up all over the projector. Kind of gives new meaning to the phrase 'projectile vomit'

Gross Eh? )

Strange Days at DCC [Sep. 13th, 2004|08:05 pm]
I actually met up with Mandy today!

I have no idea how she found me, but she came in as I was waiting for my history class to start. Yay! So I told her I would meet her in the library after my class.

Class over, meet in library, get lunch. I opt for pizza and Mandy goes for a tuna sandwich.

Lunch, discussion, laughs. It was good, she's the only person I have had a real conversation with while I have been at DCC.

As always, hilarity was involved that was saved on the laptop, and which I will now share :-)

Yak-No )

There was also a picture but I shall post that when I am not feeling so lazy.

I don't like getting wet [Sep. 8th, 2004|10:39 pm]
DCC, the new home of my eternal quest for knowledge...or something.

Anyway, today I had Social Problems at 10:00, apparently I followed Mandy on the way there, but I was oblivious I guess. (sorry bout that)

Parking lot E was full, which was kind of confusing because I dodn't know there was another lot so the security guy told me how to get there. That involved getting a spot, parking, forgetting the umbrella (grrr), and about a 5 minute walk to class. Which I consider alot :-)

Social Problems was tough in the beginning due to my absence, and I dislike the professor. But we will be spending most of this semester talking about gay marriages and there are some easily offendable people in the class, so it should be interesting.

Had an hour break, so I went oustide to get to the bookstore. It was pouring of course, and me forgetting my umbrella was very unpleasant. The worst part though was the fact that my pants got SOAKED. Ew, there is almost nothing worse than wet denim stuck to your leg.

Turns out that I *did* have the right book for my history class, so the drenching was unnescesary, but it was okay.

Spent the next half hour transferring notes to my laptop in the library. Listening to 'Resist' and that other one Lyss sent me last night....the long instrumental one.

Had this really dumb 'Honors Experience' seminar thing...first this girl and I were the only ones in the room, and she wasn't there last week either. Turns out we were in the wrong spot. Professor came and got us, and on the way down I saw Mandy. Yay! Where I was informed that I missed her waving from the road...alas, I will pay more attention looking for the Nazgul.

Then we had 50 minutes of instruction on how to use the online library........................yes, looking at all those dots is about how exciting it was. And next week, they are showing us how to use the internet. For heaven's sake, I don't think it would be possible for a 6th grader to fail that thing. Who doesn't know how to use a computer?

History was great, the professor is so funny. History can be boring with the wrong teacher ::cough::SALESE::cough:: But this guy makes it interesting, so it'll be good.

Then I was done. Walked out, in the rain, and saw Hugh. Stopped for a sec to talk to him then proceeded to the van and ventured home.

Taa daa, college post yay!

An Ode to the Telephone [Aug. 16th, 2004|03:07 am]
Strange as it is, my telephone is not in working order at the moment. No calls in or out. And I blame it on the late hour that I came up with this at all....but anyways. I think it's funny, so I'll share.

Ode )

So there it is...again I blame the hour. :-)

(no subject) [Jul. 22nd, 2004|11:42 pm]

I mowed the lawn today. It was getting pretty wild looking so I got out there and mowed it. It was alot hotter than I expected it would be. First time it felt like summer to me.

Then I had to to run around for my mom, post office, bank, hannaford's and agway. I saw Chrissy in agway, talked to her for a little. She told me about how her eyes hurt because she had gone to the eye doctor, that sucked that she had to work like that. She gave me 15% off just because. I thought that was pretty cool.

Forgot to pick up my brother from work. But I went back and got him.

Pretty slow day. I realized how much I envy my brother because he has a job. He bought a flat screen moniter yesterday. It's cool to have money like that.

I need to find a job.

Lots of fun over the past few days.

Jackie's party on Friday.
Alex's on Saturday (sorry I couldn't go)
Then movie at Jackie's on Sunday.

Yay :-D

I ordered my laptop for school, it'll come hopefully in less than two weeks. That's a good thing. And right now, I'm working on setting up a website so I can sell sketches. I'll let everybody know when it's up. And once it is, I'll make you all go there! hahahah

Quizzly-wizzly [Jun. 27th, 2004|11:30 pm]
Poking around and I found this quiz, I think Lyss will think the results are funny if no one else will.

LOVING ONE. You need safety in your relationship.
You want to be sure in his arms, knowing
that he will protect you and you can be totally
devoted to your other. At this point you are
very vulnerable. You open yourself and dont
even think that he could cheat you. You
totally trust your partner in every single way.
So if you find out that he lied to you or
played a game this trust is broken. You may try
to forgive your other but this will be very
difficult. He has to be friendly and
trustworthy.

Pump up the Volume [Jun. 27th, 2004|11:02 pm]
No posts in a while because my grandmother was here.

But it's all good now.

I got my graduation present from my parents yesterday. Well...I knew what it was, but I got it installed yesterday. Heh, I got a cd player and XM radio installed in my car. Excellent. Yeah I know, no big deal, hahaha Mag's sunfire already has XM *and* a CD player. :-)

But it's really cool, got it installed at Best Buy. I was thinking about working there, but now I'm not so sure.

So, now I am all set for the commute to Dutchess, no more crackly-ness because of that stupid converter tape.

Took my grandmother to the airport today. Activated the XM before we left and waited for the channels to load as we drove. My grandmother wanted to leave it on the 50s station because that's the music she listened to as a teenager. It's weird when your grandmother talks about how Elvis made all the girls start to "think things" with his gyrations.......yikes.

It took along time to get her through the baggage claim because she had her puppy with her. The attendant had never checked in a carry-on animal before...lots of waiting. But everything went fine and she called a few minutes ago saying she got home alright.

It's weird when nobody's around. Lyss called me from Cape May at the top of the Ferris Wheel with Jackie and Lisa, but I couldn't answer because I was driving. Sounds like they are having alot of fun down there.

Lots to do tomorrow :-)

Just another Manic Monday....er....Tuesday [Jun. 22nd, 2004|10:07 pm]
Ah summer. I lose track of time completely.

Karate was going to keep me somewhat in line, but it's closed for a month. Which kinda stinks.

I did lots of running around today, but it will be nothing compared to tomorrow, and since my grandmother is coming I probably won't get a chance to post. SO I'll tell you all in advance.

Tommorrow, Wednesday June 23

1. Get up early (as far as summer goes)
2. Follow my dad to Muller Motors
3. Drop off my car to have the brakes and the air conditioner fixed (yay no more squeak)
4. Take my dad to work
5. Drive back home
6. Go to school at 10:30 for band graduation rehersal
7. Stay at school for 11:00 graduation rehersal
8. Leave school at 11:45 to pick up the little brother (I hope the rehersal is done by then)
9. Drive home, pick him up, drive him back to school for his Chem regents
10. Talk to Mr Tolan about getting my dutchess scholarship presented at graduation
11. Drive back home
12. Finish cleaning the house for when my Grandmother comes
13. RELAX TIME!!! (no clue how long that is but Woo Hoo!)
14. Possibly go with my dad to pick her up at the air port
15. Maybe have time to sleep

That will be my day...I'm exhausted just typing it.
Phew...

Slipping Away [Jun. 21st, 2004|02:45 pm]
Long time....no post, I've been pretty busy the past couple days. Nothing really cool happened, just everyday stuff.

Oh, except Saturday, Lyss and I babysat for some of the people in our karate class. Four boys between the ages of 8 and 2. Yikes, the whole thing started with a game of dodge ball in the basement, we ended up being the targets of the attack. Then we put on Shrek to calm them down, and that led into four straight episodes of Power Rangers.

I now know more about them than I ever have in my life.

Graduation on Thursday, I called the woman I babysit for every Wednesday, and told her I wouldn't be able to be there this week, because my Grandmother is coming on Wednesday. She said it was fine and asked me if I could come tonight instead.

So that's where I'll be for a couple hours tonight. Babysitting, strange word, but one of the easiest ways to make money that I know of.

So time to clean the room so that the Grandmother has someplace to sleep.

"It's MORPHIN' TIME!!!!!"
